AOPA Accident Forgiveness

AOPA Accident Forgiveness and Deductible Waiver Enhancement

ASI logo small

Several years ago, the AssuredPartners Aerospace (formerly AOPA Insurance Agency), AIG Aerospace, and AOPA joined the Air Safety Institute initiative aimed at improving pilot safety consciousness while helping to lower a pilot's out-of-pocket expenses in the event of an accident. The United States Aircraft Insurance Group (USAIG), Old Republic Aerospace, Global Aerospace, Starr Aviation, and U.S. Specialty Insurance Company have also adapted the program to select policies available to their clients. Through this collaboration, these six carriers offer accident forgiveness and deductible reward programs to support their client pilots' participation in the Air Safety Institute program.

Why Participate?

Free, easy, and worth every minute of your time, Air Safety Institute online programs are the best way for busy pilots to stay on the top of their game. And, the Air Safety Institute’s Online Flight Instructor Refresher Course (eFIRC) also qualifies. Now there's another great advantage for safety-minded pilots—the AOPA Accident Forgiveness and Deductible Waiver Enhancement.

"I don't plan on ever having an accident, but it's nice to know that if the unthinkable happens, the ASI online courses I've been taking for years could save me a whole lot of money."
—Alan Peterson
AIG Insurance Policyholder

What is offered?

Available on select insurance policies underwritten by AIG Aerospace 1, United States Aircraft Insurance Group (USAIG) 1, Old Republic Aerospace 2, Starr Aviation 3, Global Aerospace 4, U.S. Specialty Insurance Company (USSIC) 5, this valuable coverage enhancement waives part of the policy's deductible and-even better-prevents the policy renewal rate from increasing as a result of the accident.
